If you love fonts as much as I do, you surely have a large collection of them and keep an eye to find any interesting ones. Typewriting fonts give a sensation of old-but-not-ancient. They also convey the idea of journalism as reports and newspapers used to be printed with machines on paper before the explosion of internet.
So here I offer some typewriting font sets. Be aware that not all the fonts will support all the characters, as classic typewriters were often US only. Remember this when you select a font as it will look horrible to have a blank square instead of an ä or a ß.
Gothic Regular
This doesn’t completely look like the classic typewriter print, but it’s a very nice one and it’s very readable. You can find it here.
Trixie
This is a typical typewriter font, and yet very readable. You can check it here.
Olivetti
As it would be expectable from such a huge and long lasting brand, there are two fonts for the same, and both are quite nice. Olivetti Underwood has softer edges and lines, while Olivetti Type 2 looks rougher.
Old Typewriter
This fonts aims to mimic the oddities of the earlier typewriters but without losing too much readability. It’s a nice “grunge” font and you can find it here.
Special Elite
It’s an opentype font that looks like the typing of an old machine from the ’50s. If you like it, you can find it here.
Anna’s Rusty Typewriter
It’s a font mimicking a failing typewriter. You can check it here.
Xerography
Do you remember how it was before photocopies and printers took over the world? No? It doesn’t matter, this fonts will show you a bit of the recent past.
Gabriele
Gabriele was the name of his granddaughter. In 1957 Max Grundig, German industrialist, bought the two companies Triumph and Adler and merged them into his office machine label ‘Triumph Adler’. Thus, ‘Gabriele’ became the name of a popular series of typewriters in postwar Germany. It mimics the ribbon print that used to get visible as the ink ran dry. You can check it here.

Love Letter
This is a Spanish font so it supports some more characters than the standard. You can check it here.
Kingthings Typewriter
It mimics the way letters got printed when the ribbon or the leads were out of place. It’s fancy yet readable and supports all European characters. You can check it here.
